Dieses Buch könnte einfach ein Geschenk für Don Lorenzo Milani, zu seinem 100. Geburtstag sein, dahinter steckt jedoch auch eine andere Absicht: es soll das Nachdenken über die Rolle der Schule in der Gesellschaft anregen. Lettera a una professoressa ist der Wendepunkt, der ab 1967 die Vision der italienischen Schule für immer verändert hat. Alexander Langer hat es gleich ins Deutsche übersetzt. Wie in der Tradition des Alphabeta Verlags, soll dieses Büchlein zwischen Kulturen und Blickpunkten –aus der Toskana und aus Südtirol - vermitteln. 

These are the words of Sabina Langer, editor of this booklet written by the pupils of the Barbiana school which was and is important for the Italian pedagogy. It is still topical today and useful for reflecting on the school and the (power) relations that characterise it, and for working for a more democratic and inclusive school in which everyone can learn to think critically and have a say.
