Plenary Synthesis and Discussion: From Praxis to a Community of Practice
The closing plenary gathers and reactivates the ideas, questions, and connections that emerged throughout the three days. Looking ahead, it explores the possible “praxis” publication and the development of PEA as a community of practice, research, dialogue, experimentation, and collaboration.
The discussion is introduced by the insights and suggestions that emerged from the focus groups “ART,” “MIND,” and “AUTOETHNOGRAPHY & SUPERVISION,” together with contributions from experiences in the field, including those of Daniela Ferrari (GrACE Green Europe: Active Citizenship and the Environment – University of Trento) and David Hofmann (Colloqui di Dobbiaco / Toblacher Gespräche).
The discussion also opens up the possibility of a new “DIGITAL” focus, starting from the praxis conference and through a dialogue with Matteo Uggeri (Fondazione Politecnico di Milano, editorial board member of BRICKS).

Reconstructing, Returning, Reactivating
a Sound Archive of the Horn of Africa
During the years of the Italian occupation of Ethiopia (1936–1941), more than two hundred recordings of traditional music from the Horn of Africa were made by Italian military and media organisations. At the outbreak of the Second World War, the collection was dispersed and, for decades, remained inaccessible as a coherent archive.
90 Years of Silence follows the long and complex process through which these recordings have been traced, digitised, contextualised and brought back into dialogue with the communities, histories and cultural practices from which they originated.
